My successes.

SCORE has given us confidence in how to sell our products and how to stand behind what we do. We have added a couple of more places since the pandemic and we are striving to reach our goals.

What do you do?

Lickety Sweets Gourmet is a wholesale baking business founded in 2019 by co-founders/bakers and local Moms, Dawn Castaldo and Michelle Hartnett. We bake everything by hand and everything is made to order weekly. Our recipes are tweaked to perfection and are passed down from generation to generation. We have done school fundraisers for sports teams and we have also donated to hospital staff during the pandemic. People who do not like key lime pie, love ours. It has a smooth, mousse-like texture and is quite satisfying. We aim to please and hope to continue to do that. We also bake delicious NY-style cheesecake!!

What inspired you to start your business?

We were inspired by a local fish market in our town, Mt. Kisco, New York. Joe, the owner of the market travels to Key West, Florida several times a year and challenges us to bake him a pie. He said “If it’s as good as Key West, I’ll sell it in my store” and the rest is history. We are now in several locations and are hoping to expand to more businesses and markets. Our pie is very unique and people love it.

What's special about your business?

Our company is founded on one idea, to put smiles on the faces of people in our local community with just one bite. Every product is made with love, and the best ingredients, and as always baked to order, never frozen.  What is special about our business is that we try to stay connected to the community through fundraising. We put a lot of love and dedication into our products.

What is your relationship with SCORE? SCORE client What influenced you to seek help from SCORE?

My daughter's father-in-law is a SCORE mentor; I had a discussion with him and he connected me with a SCORE mentor.

How SCORE helped.

We have received great advice on how to grow our business and how to be confident in our products. We also learned that social media is a great way to get exposure.

What's great about my mentor?

He gives us advice on how to get more clients. We look up places along our routes and bring them samples to taste and then we follow up with them.
